1. AI Model Overview

HanfuPortrait uses advanced deep learning AI models to generate traditional Chinese-style portraits. Our system combines the following technologies:

  • Facial Recognition and Feature Extraction: Identifying and extracting facial features from uploaded photos
  • Style Transfer Technology: Applying traditional Chinese clothing styles (Hanfu, Qipao, Tang-style, etc.) to user photos
  • Image Generation and Optimization: Generating high-quality, natural-looking portrait images

2. Independent product and content safety

HanfuPortrait is an independent product and brand. We may use third-party model services for image processing, but we are not affiliated with or endorsed by those models or their providers. We screen requests before generation and reject pornographic, sexually suggestive, violent, hateful, illegal, infringing, deepfake, or unauthorized face-manipulation requests.

If the safety screening service is temporarily unavailable, we pause the generation instead of bypassing the review.

3. How the Models Work

Our AI model workflow:

  1. After uploading a photo, the system first performs face detection and feature analysis
  2. Extracts key facial feature points (eyes, nose, mouth, etc.)
  3. Based on the selected style (such as Hanfu, Qipao), the model generates corresponding clothing and background
  4. Fuses original facial features with generated styles while maintaining person recognizability
  5. Performs post-processing optimization to improve image quality and naturalness

4. Model Limitations and Considerations

⚠️ Important Notice

  • AI model-generated results are virtual images, not real photographs
  • Generation quality depends on the quality and clarity of uploaded photos
  • Photos with extreme angles or special lighting conditions may affect generation results
  • The model may not perfectly handle occluded, blurred, or low-resolution photos

5. Best Practice Recommendations

To achieve the best generation results, we recommend:

  • Photo Quality: Upload clear, well-lit photos with front-facing or slightly side-facing angles
  • Face Requirements: Ensure the face is fully visible without obstructions (such as sunglasses, masks)
  • Resolution: Recommend using photos of at least 512x512 pixels, higher resolution yields better results
  • Format Support: Supports JPG, PNG formats, recommended file size under 10MB

6. Data Processing and Privacy

Regarding processing of your uploaded photos:

  • Uploaded photos are used solely for AI generation services and will not be used for model training or other purposes
  • After generation is complete, you can choose to delete original photos and generated results
  • We use encrypted storage and transmission to protect your data security
  • All data processing follows our Privacy Policy

7. Model Updates and Improvements

We continuously optimize and improve AI models to provide better generation results. Model updates may:

  • Improve the quality and realism of generated images
  • Add new style options and features
  • Optimize processing speed and resource usage
  • Fix known issues and limitations
